Please note that this event is in place of a TY Parent Teacher Meeting & is part of the school’s guidance programme in assisting students and parents regarding subject choice for the Leaving Cert.

TYs are to be accompanied by a parent/guardian and are expected in full uniform 7-8pm.

The event is ticketed (and free) and only 1 ticket is required per household.

Our ambassadors will be on hand to scan your ticket and show you to the hall, and around the compounds.

TY students will have a form to complete as they visit the different professionals and ask them about their work and the subjects required at Leaving Cert. This evening will form part of their assessment for their TY grade at the end of the Year.

Upon leaving they will submit their completed form, and it will be used in lessons and will form part of their TY portfolio.

In addition to the professionals and Colleges, we will be running talks on the night, which you will see listed at the bottom of the EventBrite link attached to this text.

There will be apprenticeships, PLCS exhibiting on the night in addition to Third Level Colleges, so if your son/daughter is not interested in attending university, there are many professionals on hand to offer advice and discuss alternative options. We have Baldoyle Education Training Centre attending and you can speak with them about apprenticeships also.

Please note that apprenticeships are available in so many different areas: Estate Agents, Cybersecurity, Finance, computing, as well as the traditional craft apprenticeships, so it is definitely worth speaking with the professionals about these opportunities.
